The Fall TV Preview of
Entertainment Weekly arrived Saturday and new seasons start tomorrow, it is
officially the most exciting time of the television year! I look forward to
seeing what my old friends have in store and making some new ones.
New
Friends
The Goldbergs (Premieres
Tuesday, September 24th 9:00 pm on ABC): Jeff Garlin, Eighties family sitcom
plus the original title of this show was “How the F**k am I Normal.”
Trophy Wife (Premieres Tuesday,
September 17th 9:30 pm on ABC): As the product of a family with multiple
marriages, I can’t wait to see how they mine the third wife’s experience with
the exes and step kids for comedy gold. Plus Malin Akerman is hilarious.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Premieres
Tuesday, September 17th 8:30 pm on Fox): Andy Samberg as a jokey cop in a show
referred to by some cast members as “The Wire with jokes.”
Mom (Premieres Monday, September 23rd
9:30 pm on CBS): Anna Faris plays a warm hearted kooky person with excellence.
It will be interesting to see how she does as the sober alcoholic single mom
dealing with her own issues while coming to terms with her sober alcoholic
mother played by the hilarious Allison Janney.
Ravenswood (Premieres
Tuesday, October 22nd 9:00 pm on ABC Family): Teenagers deal with a mystery on
ABC Family…all I need to know to watch.
The Millers (Premieres Thursday,
October 3rd 8:30 pm on CBS): Will Arnett finds himself dealing with the single
life and his newly single parents, played by Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale.
Reign (Premieres Thursday, October
17th 9:00 pm on CW): The story of Mary, Queen of Scots as told for a teenage
audience…not sure how this will work but I am intrigued by the costumes and the
court drama.
The Betrayal (Premieres Sunday, September 29th 10:00 pm on ABC): A new
primetime soap on ABC family gets a shot from me every year and this story of
an affair with consequences is my choice for this year.
Old Friends
The Mindy Project (Premieres
Tuesday, September 17th 9:30 pm on Fox): What scrapes will Mindy find herself
in this year? And what will James Franco do to make me giggle in the premiere?
Nashville (Premieres Wednesday,
September 25th 10:00 pm on ABC): The season finale was so dramatic, my heart
rate is still slowing down.
Parks & Recreation (Premieres
Thursday, September 26th 8:00 pm on NBC): Giggles, heartwarming, what will Ron
Swanson do this year?
Arrow (Premieres
Wednesday, October 9th 8:00 pm on CW): What will the vigilante superhero get up
to this year? And how many gratuitous shirtless sequences will we get?
Hart of Dixie (Premieres Monday,
October 7th 8:00 pm on CW): Wade or George or Jonah or another mystery man? Who
will Dr Hart choose and what will she wear while she makes up her mind?
