Looking Lovely: A guide to the internet ladies who inspire me

Fall is forever associated with new wardrobes for me, ever since I got my first back to school outfit (pink oversize giraffe shirt, leggings and colored converse…all of which I would probably still wear). I love thumbing through the oversized September issues and translating the designer outfits into something I could reasonably afford and wear in polite society. Fashion blogs, Instagram and Pinterest are all great inspiration for how real women put together outfits and how to incorporate something you love that seems impractical into your wardrobe.

Fashion Bloggers:

The Glamourai: If I could only be one fashion blogger, I would be the Glamourai with her international travel, weekends at the coast and her unique style. She is edgy, glamorous and not afraid to wear giant jewelry.

Man Repeller: The subtitle of this site should be making things that should be ugly fashionable. After discovering that I loved everything in my man repeller themed Glossybox, I fell hard for the humor and style of Leandra Medine. I can’t wait to read her book.

Atlantic Pacific: A former San Francisco based employee of Gap Inc, I appreciate her classic style with whimsical touches and her dedication to stacks of bracelets. Since she has been in New York working for Tory Burch, her style has more of an east coast edge.

Kelly Wearstler: Fashion designer, interior decorator, jewelry designer Kelly Wearstler finds inspiration all around her and shares it through her various platforms.

Who What Wear: Covering celebrity, runway and blogger fashion.

The Coveteur: Showcasing the wardrobes and homes of the stylish.

Tory Burch: The Tory Blog shares the designer’s inspirations and interesting stories.

Instagram Eye Candy: @nicolerichie, @beyonce, @gigiguerra1 (Target Design Parnership Curator), @real_kate_foley (stylist), @loefflerandall (shoe designers), @mindykaling (I covet her whole life, including her fashion), @rachelantonoff (designer), @evachen212 (Editor of Lucky)

Little Shakes

No, it's not Brigadoon, it's fall in Humboldt

I was just shaken to my core twice, once by the latest episode of Homeland, then by the little earthquake that shook my apartment. Being way too involved with television characters can be a little stressful sometimes. I was glad to read this post showing I am not the only one with this problem. I particularly love how she confesses to not watching Breaking Bad. I often feel weird admitting the must watch shows that I haven’t seen yet.

I don’t know how I missed that Jane Pratt of my beloved teenage Sassy and mid-twenties Jane magazines has a website called XO Jane. So many intriguing things to read.

Getting my daily news without scouring the internet just became a lot easier with the Daily Skimm. Cleverly written, it captures the major stories in a daily email I can read in the time it takes to drink my coffee.

It still feels like summer but when I feel the nighttime chill I get excited for sweater weather. These adorable rain boots from Joules are making me hope for a lot more rain this year.

The weather may not scream fall but I am ready for stew season. Made this super tasty crockpot African Peanut Stew but added chicken and took out the rice. I poured it over spinach so it just wilted in the bowl. So good!

Songs I can’t get enough of this week: Into the Wild by LP, Roar by Katy Perry and Wake Me Up by Avicii (Common theme: adventure anthems that make me feel pumped up for the next turn in the road).

Where I go to find out the magnitude of what just shook my apartment.
