Podcasts: When you want to listen to someone else have a conversation

When I sold my car, the thing I missed the most was my easy access to NPR during my commute. I was excited to realize that most NPR shows can be downloaded or streamed on your phone or ipod to listen to at your leisure. Actual radio shows are just the edge of the podcast iceberg. If you have an interest, chances are good there is a podcast about it and if like me, you have a lot of interests then there is podcast for each one. Now I often find new movie, book, tv and other obsessions through the podcasts I listen to. Here are my favorites:

Auto Download: I listen to every episode of these podcasts

Doug Loves Movies (Game show/talk): Comedian Doug Benson has celebrity guests on to talk about movies, play movie trivia games and generally entertain you.
Suggested episodes to start: 3/31/13:Hannibal Buress, Samm Levine, Sean Jordan and Graham Elwood guest or 1/25/13: Nick Kroll, Scott Aukerman and John DiMaggio guest

The Champs (Interviews): White comedians Neal Brennan (Co-Creator of the Chapelle show) and Moshe Kasher take their interest in black culture to a wider audience by interviewing only non-white guests. The conversations roam all over the place from race to dating to the most random stories about the guests. Sometimes a little filthy, this podcast always makes me laugh out loud.
Suggested episodes to start: 8/18/11 Blake Griffin, 5/17/12 Pras (Fugees) or 12/9/11 Eric Andre

WTF with Marc Maron (Interview): Deep exploration of people's lives in comedy-see previous gushing
Suggested episodes to start: 358: Mel Brooks, 364: Mike White or 374: Live Episode: James Franco, Harmony Korine, Nate Bargatze, Peter Sagal

Comedy Bang Bang (Absurdist Improv): Comedians and Improvers join host Scott Aukerman for conversations, characters and improve games.
Suggested episodes to start: 211: Jon Hamm & Nick Kroll, 120: Chelsea Peretti, Adam Scott, Harris Wittels, 167: Jessica St. Clair, Paul Rust, Jerrod Carmichael

By the Way: In Conversation with Jeff Garlin (Interview): I would listen to Jeff Garlin giggle for hours and luckily his friends that he interviews make him laugh a lot.

Choose based on guest and description

How was your week (Interview): Comedian Julie Klausner’s interviews with authors, interesting people and her random thoughts about her cat/pop culture.

NPR Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Interview, Reviews)

Commonwealth Club Radio Progam (Current Events): Interviews and panel discussions about topics from North Korea to Design Thinking.

This American Life (News Magazine): Compelling stories around a topic

You Made it Weird (Interview): Interviews with comedy peeps (kind of a rip off of wtf with a golden retriever/reformed christian comedian as host
